Camden Fire Department - Random Photos, Firehouse Life

This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey.

This page has photos from three other days where I got into the city of Camden and spent some time with the good people of the Camden Fire Department. On January 12 I took some pictures at Engine 10, where master chef Fireman Joseph "Joey D" DiPaolo and Firefighter Mike Burke put together another fabulous Sunday dinner, which brought out retired Chief of Department Joseph Marini and retired Captain James "JJ" Johnston, among others. On the morning of January 17 I was at Fire Headquarters when another visitor stopped in. A lady dropped by who was from the San Antonio, Texas area was in Philadelphia for a software convention. Her son, whose first name happens to be Camden, is a firefighter there, and she took a cab from Philadelphia in order to take pictures at CFD headquarters. Ladder 1 was sent on one run to East Camden which was recalled prior to the truck getting across 19th Street. Lastly, I stopped back at Fire Headquarters on January 19... another very quiet time, took a few pictures in the kitchen.

Very bad weather and other commitments kept me out of the city for the rest of the month and for much of February. There were a few significant jobs during this period, unfortunately, I was not available to photograph them.
