This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department called Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. Mid-afternoon on October 4, 2011 fire was reported at 3306 Federal Street in East Camden. Engine 9 and Tower Ladder 3 responded, finding a small fire caused by careless cooking. The fire was quickly dealt with and the building ventilated. Fire Dispatcher Matt DeGailler gave the following account of the incident. At 1406 hours companies were dispatched to 3306 Federal Street for report of a kitchen fire. The following units were initially sent, Engine 9, Engine 11, Ladder 3, Ladder 1, Collingswood Fire Department's Ladder 16, and Battalion 1. The first engine, Engine 9, arrived on location with nothing showing, investigating. At 1412 hours Engine 9 command reported a pot of meat (careless cooking), and that the call was being handled with with assistance from Ladder Company 3. All units were recalled except for Engine 9 and Ladder 3. All units clear at 1429 hours.
